Differentiating vaccinated chickens from infected chickens
Salmonella Gallinarum and Salmonella Enteritidis belong to Salmonella serogroup D. Both serotypes contain O-antigens 1, 9 and 12. Salmonella Enteritidis contains flagellar antigens. Flagellar antigens are absent in Salmonella Gallinarum.
The two serotypes induce antibodies that are detected by different ELISA tests.

Serological monitoring
of flocks for naturally occurring Salmonella can still
be carried out on those vaccinated with Nobilis SG 9R.
